Can anyone use the service?

If you have a laptop computer with a wireless interface card, you can use the free wireless system at the library. Just open your Internet browser (i.e., Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Netscape, etc). You will be asked to log-in with your email address or you may use our guest email address listed on the log-in page. Once you have done this, the main search page in Google will come up and you are ready to use our wireless system.

What do I need to access the Buena Park Library District’s wireless network?

You need a laptop computer and a Wireless Network PC Card. Wireless access uses the Wi-Fi standard IEEE802.11b. After you purchase the card, follow the manufacturer's instructions to install it on your computer. This should involve installing the network card driver, and also a client utility program. This program will allow you to configure the settings for your network connection, monitor signal strength, and perform other useful tasks.

What settings do I use?

Can I print while using wireless?

Printing is not available from customer laptops.
