Welcome back to the library. Phase 1 of our building improvements is almost complete and our building has reopened. Our chiller and boiler have been replaced, as well as electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling components spanning all three stories of our building. The waste line draining the restrooms has also been repaired.
Although you won’t notice a significant visual difference throughout the building, you should notice improved heating, cooling, temperature regulation, and humidity control. The library should also experience a reduction of drainage backups.
The Library will need to close for an additional 3 weeks for phase 2 of our project, which will include the replacement of our air handler system. Supply chain challenges have caused delays in Phase 2 of our project. We are hoping that this portion of the project will be completed in the first quarter of 2023, though we do not have a firm date at this time.
Thank you for your patience while we make adjustments to our settings and complete this project. Although the library is open, we are still fine tuning the system to optimize the controls. We recognize that the library closure had a significant impact on our community and we thank you for understanding the need for this infrastructure upgrade. By making these improvements now, we will be able to provide a comfortable gathering space to our community for many years to come.
